Lacking any real cultural, sports or recreational activities for its youth, San Mateo requires outside sources of funding to institute such programs. Municipal and public buildings are rarely maintained also due to lack of public funding. Kopali Communities will endeavor to promote outside sources of funding and participate in the betterment of the local community.

These funds will go directly into a foundation account, managed by the Homeowner's Association of Valle de Machuca, to potentially serve such purposes. Homeowners will also be encouraged to open businesses in San Mateo (i.e. Internet cafe, restaurants, botanical garden, farmer's market, etc.) employing local people, using local goods and services.
